Urban conference in St. Petersburg: Cities and Territories of Tomorrow. Tools for Positive Change

Christoph Kohl to speak at the opening plenary session at the urban conference entitled “Cities and Territories of Tomorrow: Tools for Positive Change” that will be held on 9 September 2015 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The aim of the conference in St. Petersburg is to accumulate and disseminate information about important urban projects, share international strategic planning experience and find solutions for improving the quality of life in Russian cities. The conference will be held with the participation of local and federal governments, representatives of business communities, as well as leading Russian and international experts and organisations involved in urban development.

As one of the most economically developed regions within Russia’s large, fast-growing, and emergent economy, St. Petersburg – the second largest city in Russia, politically incorporated as a federal subject – is strongly focused on urban development and improvement, making major investments into the integrated development of territories, as well as supporting high-quality education.

The urban conference series „Cities and Territories Tomorrow: Tools for Positive Change“ are being organised for the second time as part of the Moscow Urban Forum, in cooperation with KB Strelka and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and with the support of Russian federal and regional governments.

The results of the event will be submitted to the Moscow Urban Forum in October 2015 in Moscow.

Moscow Urban Forum is held annually since 2011. This is an international conference dedicated to city development, architecture, economics and strategic planning of the cities.

The Moscow Urban Forum is organised annually under the auspices of the Moscow Government with the participation of Sergey Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow. The event has established itself as one of the most important international urban events of the year and is supported by the Urban Land Institute. The Programme Directorate of the Forum is represented by Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design.

Moscow Urban Forum is a platform for sharing experiences, where the leaders of the largest cities in Russia and the world have an opportunity to discuss their pressing issues and projects with the representatives of the international expert community.
