On Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 6 pm, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Vleuterweide Centre in Utrecht has taken place. The alderman Harrie Bosch of the Utrecht municipality did the honors.
Vleuterweide Centre is the new center area of the western part of Leidsche Rijn which caters primarily to the 40,000 inhabitants in Vleuterweide, Veldhuizen, Vleuten – The Meern and environment. The center, located on a water lot and the HOV-Route, consists of approximately 15,000 sq meters of shops, offices 2,500 sq meters, about 200 rental and 105 freehold apartments and generous parking facilities. The project is scheduled to be realised in October 2010.
