Each year since 1975, the International Council of Shopping Centers ICSC has recognised excellence in new and refurbished or extended shopping centres throughout Europe with the presentation of the prestigious and highly sought-after ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards at the ICSC European Conference. The ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards are one of the most prestigious accolades in Commercial Real Estate, bringing international visibility and recognition to all finalists and winners. The award is a statement of the overall excellence of the project taking into consideration amongst others: the retail mix, commercial performance, customer services and the centre’s successful integration into the surrounding infrastructure.

Shopping Centre Vleuterweide is a new, open-air shopping centre that includes 51 small and large retailers, bars and restaurants. The centre area is a unique concept that stands out thanks to the authentic urban development structure and striking architecture, using traditional Dutch gables reminiscent of canal houses. The centre showcases an interplay of squares and streets and large and small buildings that alternate harmoniously. Together, with optimally designed exterior spaces, these elements combine to create unique public spaces. The centre’s waterfront location enhances its appeal, making it more than just shopping, but a destination as well.
